IVIO De Wereldschool: A stable factor in turbulent times!

De Wereldschool: A stable factor in turbulent times!

Especially in times like this (Dutch) parents realize that, for an uninterrupted continuation of quality education, the continued availability of professional teachers is essential. Next to this they prefer their children to have actual contact with a teacher at least once a week. To meet these requirements during these unusual times, we have developed a system that we call Blended Education

Blended learning together with LanguageOne

LanguageOne, our partnerorganisation, provides mother tongue education in several locations in the world including the Middle East and Asia. These face to face classes are unique in the way they combine the Dutch curriculum with the characteristics of the IB-curriculum. This makes it easier for students to adjust in their classes and provides a rich language environment. Since this summer, students can benefit from a blended option, in which they follow the Dutch lessons in the classroom and use the online option for other subjects like history and maths. Students with a good vocabulary and skills in their own grade-level will be able to be challenged in this way by studying broader content. Students whose parents want to have a smooth transition into Dutch education, will be able to study content which they need in the future. Several students have started this curriculum and their parents are positive about this possibility!

Half year – options
Not new, but even more appropriate in these uncertain times, is the option for a half-year curriculum. De Wereldschool is able to help students who will either stay longer in their country because of Covid-19 or return earlier to the Netherlands with this adaptive way of studying

“Onderwijs en Afstand” website
As parents became teachers, they might have been looking for support about how to help their child in the best way with the education. All IVIO-organisations have a lot of experience and knowledge about this and decided to bundle this in a webite called ‘Education and distance’. On this website there is a special section for parents in both primary and secondary education and Dutch as a second language. This webite is in Dutch, but also provides the opportunity to ask questions, so if one of your English speaking parents would like to ask a question, this is possible too. Dutch lessons for non-native Dutch parents
Many of your expat-employees might have a partner that doesn’t speak Dutch. One of the Ivio-companies – Ivio Opleidingen – provide Dutch as a second language, for adults. This is a curriculum which is available online and adapted to the needs of the individual learner.
With all the new developments we feel that we can provide stability for Dutch education in these turbulent times!
